Frequently
Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before collaborating with me. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to contact me or ask during the discovery call.
For subscription
We’ll start with a video chat (or physical meeting), giving you a chance to talk about your project and for us to connect. If it looks like a strong fit, I’ll follow up within 24 hours with a proposal, a contract, and an invoice for the first month’s retainer. Once everything’s signed and settled, we’ll book a time for our Kickoff call. During that session, we’ll dive into your business objectives and product goals, ensuring we have a clear roadmap to guide the upcoming work.
For project based
Same as above, but without the monthly retainer. The payment agreement will be a part of the contract for the project, but it's always 30-50% upfront.
Ad-hoc work
Same as above, but it highly depends on the ad-hoc task itself. But we'll start of with a video chat and then agree on the work if we are a fit and I can fulfill the task.
In the first month, I’ll conduct a thorough audit of your existing SaaS product and compile a detailed report on my findings. This audit will include screenshots and initial impressions of your product, feedback from current or potential users, and discussions with you to understand your business challenges. The report will summarize these observations and offer practical suggestions for improvements.
Next, we’ll move into UX strategy work, where we’ll create user personas and high-level user journey maps. This step is essential for ensuring our design choices align with user needs and business goals. By understanding your target audience, we can make informed decisions that drive your product forward.
Before the month concludes, we’ll combine the insights from the audit and the UX strategy to develop a clear roadmap aimed at driving significant growth for your company. This roadmap will guide enhancements for existing products and set the foundation for future development. All UX/UI designs I create moving forward will be built on this foundational work, giving us a solid framework for success.
For established teams: UX/UI implementation support
If you already have a roadmap, plan, or existing strategies in place and just need extra hands for UX/UI implementation, I’m here to help. I have extensive experience working closely with Product Managers, stakeholders, and developers, ensuring a seamless integration into your team. Whether you need assistance with design execution or collaboration on specific features, I’m ready to contribute and enhance your project.
Cost-effectiveness: Hiring a skilled freelance Product Designer can save you a significant amount compared to bringing someone on full-time. Experienced designers typically expect salaries starting at $85,000+ per year, along with benefits and retirement contributions. For many startups, this often leads to paying for hours that aren’t fully utilized.
Flexible engagement: One of the best aspects of working with a freelance designer is the flexibility it offers. You can opt for a subscription or project-based model, allowing you to adjust the level of support as your needs change. If you find that you need less time one month and more the next, it’s easy to accommodate that.
Diverse expertise: Having worked with various implementations and solutions, I bring a broad range of experience to the table. This diversity enables the provision of fresh ideas and innovative solutions tailored specifically to your unique challenges.
Faster time to market: Collaborating with a freelance designer allows for a quicker start. There’s no lengthy onboarding process to navigate, which helps you bring your product to market faster.
No long-term commitment: One of the great things about this arrangement is the low-risk nature of trying out a freelance designer. You can assess their skills and fit within your team without a long-term commitment. If the collaboration is successful, it can continue; if not, it’s straightforward to move on.
Focused expertise: Freelance designers often specialize in product design, providing deep expertise and quality results aligned with your project goals.
Adaptable to your needs: As your project evolves, a freelance designer can easily adjust their services to meet changing requirements. Whether you need more design hours or assistance with specific tasks, support is readily available.
Less overhead: Hiring a freelancer means you don’t have to deal with the overhead costs associated with in-house designers, such as office space and equipment. This can free up your budget for other critical areas like product development and marketing.
Delivering high-quality work while providing personalized attention is at the foundation of my design philosophy. To achieve this, I carefully select the number of clients I take on, ensuring that I can dedicate adequate time and resources to each project. My focus is on building long-term partnerships.
By prioritizing a select group of clients, I can fully immerse myself in each project. This strategy not only allows me to maintain a high standard of quality but also fosters a collaborative environment where we can communicate openly and work closely together.
I believe that strong relationships lead to better outcomes, and by working with clients who are a great fit, I can better understand their unique needs and goals. This dedicated approach results in a more efficient design process and a deeper connection, ultimately driving successful results.
In summary, my commitment to taking on a manageable number of clients allows me to provide the individualized support and high-quality work that every client deserves.
Yes! It's just me. This ensures a great connection, communication, and delivery each time. This will also keep cost lower.
If we want specific things made that are out of my competencies I can suggest we use some of the budget you pay me for hiring another freelancer. This will of course mean a lower pay-out to me, but if it's worth it for the results of your project I would much rather want that. You will of course have the final say here in terms of bringing another one on board. I'll make sure to only suggest people I know and can vouch for.
Once your initial down payment is processed, we’ll coordinate to schedule our kickoff call. After that, I’ll send you monthly invoices on a recurring basis. You can expect these invoices to arrive about a week before the end of each month, serving as a reminder and proactive payment for the upcoming month’s services.
Please note that any outstanding invoices will result in a temporary pause on your account until the payment is made. I’m here to support you throughout the process, ensuring everything runs smoothly and effectively.
Due to the nature of my services, which requires my time, I cannot get those hours back, that have already been dedicated to a project. Therefore, I do not provide refunds.
